275 gallon IBC totes are a common IBC capacity choice for many industry and trade applications. Trade names include IBCs, IBC tanks, and IBC totes. IBC is the acronym for intermediate bulk container, so called because the tank’s capacity lies between standard 55 gallon drums and high capacity bulk storage tanks. Our intermediate bulk containers are manufactured in the USA using the latest industry materials and manufacturing practices. The IBCs are engineered to meet or exceed government and regulatory standards for numerous commodity handling applications and various transport methods for both domestic and offshore uses.
Our 275 gallon IBC tote containers are made from FDA certified, BPA free, food grade virgin high density polyethylene (HDPE) resin, rated for up to 1.9 specific gravity fluids, and approved per ANSI / NSF 61 standards for potable water and high purity commodities. This excludes reconditioned caged IBC totes due the tote’s previous use. Manufacture includes UV inhibitors to protect the tote plastic from sunlight damage during extended outdoor use. These IBCs are engineered per Title 49 CFR requirements for non-hazardous and hazardous Packing Group II and Packing Group III materials. Design labels include UN 31HA1/Y, UN 31H1/Y, and UN 31H2/Y.
275 gallon IBC tanks are robust, effectively simplistic, versatile cargo containers that are highly efficient in withstanding the stress of transport and work conditions. Due to their reusability and size, IBCs can and will save a company money over time when compared to drums, making IBCs long term logistic assets ideal for commercial, industrial, agricultural, and consumer-based needs.
Intermediate bulk containers make excellent choices for sensitive, potentially degrative commodities. Such materials, chemicals, etc. that are sensitive to damaging effects of water, heat, or air exposure are protected due to IBC engineering. 275 gallon IBC totes provide ample storage for transport and direct applications involving a vast assortment of such materials. IBC cargo can be stored, handled, and shipped with limited risk to the integrity of the cargo.

275 gallon totes are engineered to save space and be easier to handle and use, especially when compared to drum transport containers. As an alternative, a single 275 gallon IBC tote is the direct equivalent of five 55 gallon drums contained within standard pallet size dimensions. IBCs are freestanding and cubical in shape, rather than cylindrical. This makes them easier to maneuver, stack, organize in position and ultimately transport.
All IBCs feature forklift channels for multidirectional access and movement by forklift or pallet jack. All IBCs are stackable. Total stacking height depends on IBC type, total weight, and general workplace safety. All but caged IBC models have high reusability and retain their applicable use for years to provide potentially hundreds of successful service trips.
