Description
Stainless Steel IBC tanks are premium intermediate bulk containers built for handling, distribution, and storage applications that require or benefit from the reusability, strength, material compatibility, high temperature tolerance, and hygiene characteristics of stainless steel. They are used to deliver, distribute, and hold various cargo commodities from liquids to granulated solids in many uses across industries, market and commerce sectors, and material applications.
The stainless steel IBC tank offers the longest service life, durability, and reusability of all intermediate bulk containers while providing the cleanliness and versatility of stainless steel metal. Stainless steel IBCs have the best reusability for multi-material storage, transport, and handling with superior useful life and minimal maintenance. The container’s material and engineering allows them to be easily washed, cleaned, inspected, and certified for reuse over years of service.
The stainless steel IBC is used in food and beverage manufacturing and processing, construction, for paints, coatings and dyes, in petrochemical oil, gas and fuel applications, refineries and offshore platforms, pharmaceutical, healthcare, cosmetics, automotive and vehicle maintenance, agriculture and more. Stainless steel IBC tanks are used to handle chemicals, acids, caustics, solvents, organics, cleaning agents, aviation fuel, motor vehicle fuel, food and beverage ingredients, dyes, additives, flavors, paints, coatings, lubricants, greases, drilling fluids, chemicals, recovery fluids, products, and more.
Build and Certifications
Stainless steel IBC tanks are constructed from 10 gauge thick 304 grade stainless steel metal. Grade 316/l stainless steel IBCs are available on request. These stainless steel IBCs feature a 1/2″ angled sloped bottom to promote complete drainage. Stainless steel IBC tanks are stackable up to 3 high depending on total weight, application, and work setting.
Stainless steel IBCs are available in volume storage capacity ranging from 110 gallons to 550 gallons. The tanks are welded from premium stainless steel metal with an electropolish finish and electro-chemical cleaning process. Various weld options and grit are available on request.
Stainless steel IBCs are Title 49 CFR compliant, UN31A labeled, and IMDG certified containers approved for the transit of non-hazardous and hazardous Packing Group II and III materials by highway, rail, and sea in maritime vessels. They also carry design approvals for UL 142, NFPA 30, and DNV 2.7-1. Stainless steel IBC tanks can be used with Class I flammables, Class II and III combustible materials, and high temperatures above 140°F. Stainless steel totes are ANSI/NSF/CAN 61 certified for food grade materials, consumable quality ingredients, products, and potable grade cargo, applications, and systems.
Features
Stainless steel IBCs feature a 22 1/2″ diameter manway with detachable drum cover, EPDM gasket standard, and leverlock bolted clamp ring. The extra-large manway improves internal container access for filling, cleaning, mixing, and batch applications. Lids feature a built-in vent for pressure relief. Tank head includes a 2″ female NPT replaceable bung fitting. Standard drain valve is a 2″ 316 SS ball valve with a one-piece valve guard to protect the drain valve from damage.
The IBC features an integrated top lift package with 1/4″ thick combination lifting lugs with 1-1/2″ eyelets for hoisting equipment and vehicle lift. The top lift package doubles as corner guards for additional security when stacking. Stainless steel IBCs have 3-way directional access for maneuvering the tanks by forklifts and pallet jacks.
This stainless steel IBC tank is manufactured in the USA by Custom Metalcraft® under the TranStore™ brand name.
