IBC Tote Pricing

IBC totes are available in several models and different manufacturing types, not just the commonly used poly caged tote. Due to the differences between similar IBC types, prices will also differ and can vary widely. IBC tote prices depend on several factors including the tote model (i.e., construction material and engineering), its capacity, and whether it is new or used.

Here is a general idea of IBC tote pricing:

  • New IBC Totes: New IBC totes can cost anywhere from $200 to $4,500 and up. For example, a new 275-gallon poly cage tote can be purchased for around $350 to $400, while a new 180-gallon stainless steel IBC can cost from $3,500 to $3,600. The difference is in the type and amount of material used in manufacture, the selective engineering and design, and any additional components installed and needed on the IBC.
  • Used IBC Totes: Used IBC totes are typically less expensive, with prices depending on the source and quality of the used IBC. Prices can be as low as free on pickup up to $70, up to $250 for a certified reconditioned 330-gallon IBC. Here, the condition of the tote can significantly impact the price. It’s important to ensure that used totes are suitable for the use, cleaned, and rinsed before use if purchasing from a non-certified retailer.
  • Price by Capacity: The capacity of the IBC tote also directly affects the total price, with larger tote sizes typically costing more. IBCs can range in size from 110 gallons up to 550 gallons, with 793 gallon IBCs sometimes available.

When purchasing an IBC tote, consider not just the price but also the quality and suitability of the tote for your specific application needs. Ensure the tote is suitable for the type of material you plan to store or transport, provides the features and functionality you require, and that it meets any relevant safety and regulatory standards.
