Water IBC Totes are intermediate bulk containers designated for the handling, storage, and transportation of potable and non-potable water. They are highly reusable for water use applications only. Water IBC tanks are caged IBC totes, which provide the lightest and most robust cost effective option for all bulk water operations. They are available in 275 gallon and 330 gallon high volume capacities rated to 1.9 specific gravity.
We offer new water IBC totes and rebottled model options. Both options pass performance oriented packaging standards of Department of Transportation (DOT) Title 49 CFR Section 178. These water IBCs are also approved according to IMDG and UN recommendations for domestic and offshore uses and are labeled with DOT/UN markings 31HA1/Y.
Our United States’ manufactured water IBC totes feature an inner cargo bottle containerized by a reinforced galvanized steel frame that is integrated with a composite type pallet. The tank is extrusion blow molded from industrial grade virgin high density polyethylene (HDPE) resin.
Modern American based fabrication incorporates only BPA free, FDA food grade certified top quality HDPE that complies with NSF / ANSI 61 requirements for drinking water systems. Manufacture includes ultraviolet (UV) stabilizers to prevent harmful sunlight degradation and ensures applicable long term outdoor and indoor use.
Water IBC totes have a galvanized steel frame that is a reinforced, warp resistant, tubular steel grid jacket that supports and protects the HDPE liner. The zinc-plated steel cage is engineered to durably resist the harmful effects of rust, physical impacts, snapping, and environmental conditions of moisture, wind, heat, and sunlight. Water IBC cages feature two removable upper support bars, front and rear product, tank information panels, and front discharge valve access.
Water IBCs feature an integrated, composite type pallet base that simplifies product movement and increases mobility. The composite base is constructed from high molecular weight HDPE and galvanized steel. The unified skid has a flat steel plate that supports the HDPE bottle. Water IBC tote pallets have four way, multidirectional steel access channels that are compatible with forklifts and pallet jacks. These access channels allow the water tote to be approached and maneuvered from each cardinal direction.
275 Gallon Water IBC Tote Dimensions: 40″ W x 45″ L x 46″ H
330 Gallon Water IBC Tote Dimensions: 40″ W x 48″ L x 53″ H
Water IBC totes are translucent, which allows sight gauging of the water level. Our water totes feature 6″ by 150mm HDPE screw cap with buttress style threading installed with a 6.35mm EPDM gasket. They have a 2″ HDPE discharge ball valve and cover with male quick disconnect camlock installed with a 3.51mm Viton gasket. NPT threading or EPDM gasket material can be requested.
Intermediate bulk containers are designed with a capacity between drums and tanks. Water IBC totes have several application advantages over the standard 55 gallon drum. IBCs hold the same volume in less space and are self-contained to a single pallet. For capacity comparison:
One 275 gallon water tote = Five 55 gallon drums
One 330 gallon water tote = Six 55 gallon drums
Water IBCs are cube shaped and sized around the international standard pallet dimensions. This unique engineering makes IBCs easier and more effective than drums to handle, organize, stack, fill, load, and transport. One integrated pallet water IBC can be filled and transported without the extra maneuverability required by multiple drum containers. These water IBC design advantages contribute to increased productivity and decreased costs associated with product loss, labor, shipping, and liability concerns.
Water IBC totes are available in new or rebottled model options in 275 gallon or 330 gallon capacity volumes.
All water IBCs are stackable and feature 4 way multi-directional jack/fork access channels. Engineering approves stacking height up to 3 IBCs if empty and no more than 2 if weighted with water cargo. The construction materials of water IBCs are highly recyclable, making them a potentially environmentally friendly option. Use of water IBC totes decreases operational wastes and disposal costs through their increased volume capacity and ability to be reused and/or recycled.
Water IBC tote accessory equipment is available for additional requirements of specific water handling operations. Pumps are offered for either top or bottom unloading. Nozzle kits with associated tubing are available for water dispensing. Some different coupler and fitting options can be purchased and installed as needed. Heating and insulation blankets are also available for temperature sensitive water applications.
